The sounds of basketballs dribbling, passes being caught, and shots being taken at the hoops, can mean only one thing; it is March Madness at the Chrin Center! After school basketball started on March 9th and over 20 athletes have been practicing their dribbling, passing, and shooting skills. Their skills are improving each week and they even played a five vs five game last week. Five athletes had the pleasure of representing our county at the VIA Banquet and made us proud with their maturity and patience during the long evening of speeches. The VIA Special Olympic Shoot-Out was April 1st and 11 of our athletes played a basketball game in front of a large crowd at Northampton County Community College. The fans loved their enthusiasm and energy during the 12 minute game and our athletes rose to the occasion and scored over 20 points! Our athletes will continue practicing their skills and putting them into action during game like situations through the month of April. March Madness may be over, but there is still some very good basketball to be played by our athletes!
