On March 1, 2017 at Easton Area High School, 213 gymnasts, representing 28 classes, came ready to show off their routines and have fun. For the past two months these athletes, Kindergarten through sixth grade, in Northampton County have been practicing their rolling, jumping, balancing, running, and galloping. They learned routines to do on the beam and floor. They learned to run, jump onto a spring board and land on a mat. They learned to take turns and cheer each other on. They worked very hard with their physical education teachers and their classroom teachers to perfect their moves so they would be ready for their big competition. After opening ceremonies, the gymnasts were ready to perform. They tumbled, danced, balanced, and jumped. They helped each other out and cheered each other on. At the end of each event they received ribbons which they proudly wore. Everyone did an outstanding job! A special thanks to: Easton Area High School, the Student Council, Custodians, Security, Administrators, and all the Student Volunteers. Special thanks to the Easton Angels for the awesome bake sale, they raised $700.00 for Northampton County Special Olympics!! Finally a special thanks to all the Teachers and Volunteers who helped make sure each child had a wonderful experience. The day ended with closing ceremonies and a dance party. Everyone had a wonderful time. Hope to see everyone at next year’s gymnastics event.
