Welcome to the Northampton County Special Olympics! Northampton County Special Olympics began its program in 1976. All events were run in conjunction with the Colonial Intermediate Unit 20. The current Northampton County program is a school based program for school aged athletes administered by the Colonial Intermediate Unit #20. We currently have over 1,000 school based students in our program. All of our events are run during the school day from 10 am until 1 pm. We offer many sports! Those sports include: aquatics, athletics, basketball, bowling, floor hockey, gymnastics, skiing, and MATP events. We also offer a pre-school event at Wind Gap Park. The program is now starting an after school program at the Charles Chrin Community Center. Those programs include volleyball and soccer.
